VIETNAM TO RE-OPEN REGULAR INTERNATIONAL FLIGHTS FROM DECEMBER 15, 2021
According to the government's meeting, the Ministry of Transport (MoT) has proposed the re-opening of regular international flights for international passengers to Vietnam from December 15, 2021. It will be resumed in two periods as:
The first phase starting, from December 15, 2021, will reopen flights between Vietnam and USA (San Francisco or Los Angele), Singapore, Bangkok (Thailand), Phnom Penh (Cambodia), Vientiane (Laos), Beijing (China), Tokyo (Japan), Seoul (South Korea), and Taipei (Taiwan). The flights in this period will be connected to the international airports of Noi Bai in Hanoi and Tan Son Nhat in Ho Chi Minh City. There will be 4 flights per week on every way for each side. Estimated bout 14,000 passengers coming to Vietnam in each week.
The proposal of second phase will be in 30 next days of the first period – starting from the first of January, 2022. More flights and destinations connect to international airports of Da Nang, Cam Ranh, Phu Quoc, and Van Don are also proposed as; Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Hong Kong (China), Paris (France), Frankfurt (Germany), Sydney (Australia), and Moscow (Russia). The frequency will be raised to 7 flights per week on every way for each side. Hopefully, the number of passengers entering Vietnam on this time is some 40,000.
