This is a certified card that is used for foreigners to stay in Vietnam instead of visa..

What kinds & types of Vietnam Temporary Resident Card?
The temporary resident cards are divided based on each purpose of the cases and will be set forth as:
1. NG3 – Issued for members of Foreign Affairs Organizations, Consulates, Representatives of United Nations and their accompanies.
2. LV1 – Issued for visitors of provincial and governmental levels.
3. LV2 – Issued for visitors of official organizations of Vietnam Government.
4. ĐT1, ĐT2, ĐT3– Issued for investors to set up companies in Vietnam – see the differences below.
5. DH – Issued for foreigners to come to Vietnam to study.
6. LS – Issued for international certified lawyers to work in Vietnam.
7. NN1 – Issued for heads of Foreign Representatives of Offices, International Projects and Ngo’s projects,
8. NN2 – Issued for head representatives & branches of businessman in Vietnam.
9. PV1 – Issued for International journalist and reporters.
10. LĐ1 & LĐ2 – Issued for workers to work in Vietnam.
11. TT – Issued for wife, husband and children (under 18 years old) of foreigners who have been issued the above types except NG3. Or this type is issued for foreigners who are Parents, wife, husband or children of Vietnamese Citizens.

Validities of Vietnam Temporary Resident Cards?
According to Article 38, Immigration Laws in 2014, amended by Immigration Laws in 2019 with the validities of temporary resident cards as:

Code ĐT1 is not valid more than 10 years.

Code NG3, LV1, LV2, LS, ĐT2 & DH are not valid more than 5 years..

Code NN1, NN2, ĐT3, TT are not valid more than 3 years.

Code LĐ1, LĐ2 và PV1 are not valid more than 2 years..

Requirements & Conditions of the temporary resident cards?

2	NG3	Sponsored by Vietnam Government to members of Foreign Affairs Organizations, Consulates, Representatives of United Nations and their accompanies	5 years
3	LV1	Sponsored and come to work with Departments of Central Government, National Assembly, Government and other Governmental & Provincial levels Departments.	5 years
4	LV2	Sponsored and come to work with political & Social organizations, Vietnam Commercial Chamber.	5 years
5	LS	Sponsored and come to work with Supreme People's Court of Vietnam.	5 years
6	ĐT2	Foreigners with total capital more than 50 billion VND and less than 100 billion VND invested into Vietnam.	5 years
7	DH	Sponsored and come to study with Universities and Colleagues in Vietnam.	5 years
8	NN1	Sponsored and come to work with International & NGo’s organizations in Vietnam.	3 years
9	NN2	Sponsored and come to work with representatives, branches of businessman and other professional offices of foreigners in Vietnam.	3 years
10	ĐT3	Foreigners with total capital more than 3 billion VND and less than 50 billion VND invested into Vietnam.	3 years
11	TT	Sponsored by a Vietnamese relatives	3 years
12	LĐ1	Sponsored by & come to work with a company based in Vietnam with a certificate of none work-permit allowance.	2 years
13	LĐ2	Sponsored & come to work with a company based in Vietnam with a certificate of work-permit.	2 years
14	PV1	Sponsored by a Vietnamese News Agency.	2 years
